De Conciliis Selim – An Italian Sparkler Loaded with Style
Selim is Miles spelled backwards. That’s Miles, as in Miles Davis. Now if you’re going to go ahead and name your wine after the smoothest, baddest, most stylish horn player there ever was, it had better be a smooth, bad, stylish wine. Good thing the Selim lives up to its namesake. Like Miles, it’s always fresh, crisp and engaging. Unlike Miles, the Selim is also pleasant, yeasty, clean and delicious with a nice floral and citrus edge to its aromatics. Be sure not to underestimate the versatility of sparkling wines. The Selim is a great accompaniment to food. It’s also a very generous crowd-pleaser. But don’t pigeonhole it – turn on the hi-fi, listen to In a Silent Way, and drink a couple of glasses. You’ll be very happy you did.
