Mouthwatering White Burgundy at an Incredible Price – Perrusset Macon-Villages, 2007
February 25th, 2010 • Related • Filed Under
We have brought back, after only a very short absence, a 2007 Macon-Villages from Henri Perrusset. This is such a wonderful “introductory” Burgundy from the southern part of the region where the growing season is a bit warmer and the resulting juice exhibits the wonderful round flavors and suggestions of toast, even though it never sees a day in oak. Sometimes white Burgundies have so much lively acidity that it may obstruct other components, but this one is round, dry, mouthfilling with great chardonnay fruit. You can’t go wrong…it’s only $12.75 a bottle. At that price you should have plenty of this wine on hand. It’s amazing with food and equally amazing on it’s own.
